A student-led initiative building free STEM kits for kids across Ohio.
Our story
Future Spark began as a service project for an English class in Columbus. The assignment was to find a gap for marginalized students and bridge it.
Founder Satvik Surapaneni saw the same thing again and again: kids decide they are not "an engineering person" without ever building a circuit or designing a bridge. Interest in engineering does not come from a definition. It comes from making something, breaking it, and figuring out why.
So a few students started designing kits, buying parts, and packing them by hand. We deliver them ourselves.

Where we started. Three elementary schools and three community organizations so far.

We are building partnerships with schools and organizations in the Cleveland area.

We deliver to counties like Fairfax and plan to reach ten or more schools across Ohio.

A high school student in Columbus. Satvik started Future Spark as a class project and leads kit design, fundraising, and deliveries.

Our name. Future Spark was called Future Engineers until September 2026. Same team, same kits. Our Instagram account is still @ohs_future_engineers.
